Tutoring Program Manager
Master's in Social Work & Bachelor's in Social Work
Fia Ewers is the Tutoring Program Manager at Boosted Diplomas, where she oversees academic programming designed to strengthen student outcomes and expand educational access. She holds both a Bachelor and Master of Social Work from the University of Nevada, Reno, and brings a systems-level, lived-experience-informed approach to addressing educational inequities.
Fia’s background spans child welfare, higher education, and public policy, where she has worked to address systemic barriers to education. Prior to joining Boosted Diplomas, she supported students across all seven Nevada degree-granting institutions through the NSHE Fostering Success Initiative. In this role, she co-planned and co-facilitated two statewide retreats and authored a resource guide focused on supporting NSHE students with foster care experience.
At the national level, Fia has contributed to federal policy and advocacy efforts, including working directly with members of Congress on child welfare legislation, presenting at the 2026 CCAI Congressional Briefing, and authoring a congressional policy report on higher education access for students with foster care experience, published in June 2026. Through her work, she remains committed to shaping programs, policies, and systems that better support students with lived experience in accessing and succeeding in education.
Born and raised in Northern Nevada, Fia enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, and baking.
