Gary Pregal is a retired Washoe County School District counselor. He was a high school counselor for 14 years and served as a middle school counselor for an additional 13 years. Prior to that, he worked with area youth in an adolescent substance abuse facility for five years as an outpatient counselor.

Gary earned a Master of Arts in Counseling and Educational Psychology from the University of Nevada. He is a Licensed School Counselor by the State of Nevada and is a National Board Certified Counselor.

Gary grew up in Wyoming and has lived in Reno/Sparks for the past 32 years. He is married with one son and enjoys spending time with family and friends. Gary is an avid sports fan and attends many sporting events including Las Vegas Raiders games, University of Nevada football and basketball games, and Reno Aces games. He also enjoys going to concerts, mostly of the rock and roll genre. He also enjoys movies and television, mostly comedies, dramas and documentaries. Gary enjoys traveling and has a goal to attend a major league baseball game at every stadium in the country. Obviously, he also enjoys working with young people to help them to explore and reach their goals!
