Dave recently retired as the Director of the Standards and Instructional Supports Office at the
Nevada Department of Education (NDE) after 17 years of service. Prior to this position he
worked as the director of the Northwest Regional Professional Development Program in
Nevada. Prior to his time with NDE, Dave was the Nevada state math consultant for grades
K – 12, a principal at a K – 8 school, and a mathematics/science teacher for over 15
years, mainly in the middle school grades. Most of his current time is spent on research
and development with his wife, Dr. Tami Brancamp, around mathematics, connecting
this world with people with aphasia to better support our community. Dave is currently
teaching as a Lecturer on Assignment for the University of Nevada, Reno for the College
of Education and supporting “Serving Our Communities Foundation. His other areas of
interest include marathon distance open water swimming and supporting his son’s new
business; Terror – The Biggest Little Horror Shop in the World.
